R. Paul Herman, Founder + CEO
As a strategist at McKinsey and Omidyar Network, R. Paul Herman helped clients achieve top performance with high-leverage advice and counsel. As an entrepreneur, Paul has delivered innovative customer value and societal impact. As a grantmaker and fundraiser at Ashoka: Innovators for the Public, Paul coached social entrepreneurs towards scale and growth in their impact and viability, while also connecting social investors with those high-impact organizations. Paul’s cross-sector experience (business, social and government entities) has led to the formation of the HIP mindset, methodologies and transformative approach.

Jessica Skylar, Executive Vice President
Jessica Skylar joined forces with HIP Investor in May 2007 and leads HIP’s business development, research, operations and marketing. Jessica’s experience consulting to top international non-profits at the Center for Development Communication, working on the US and Development teams at Ashoka: Innovators for the Public, and leading marketing and fundraising at Social Capitalist awardee and Ashoka Fellow Springboard Forward, is complemented by her young entrepreneuring, creating youth programs and a student-led human-rights task forces in her hometown of Los Angeles. Jessica has a BA in International Development and an MA in International Peace and Conflict Resolution.

Sylvia Gibson, Sustainability Consultant
Sylvia Gibson is a candidate in Dominican University’s GreenMBA program. She has been working with HIP since February and is a leading teammember in HIP’s scorecard project with the United Nations. Sylvia worked as a school teacher for ten years before making her decision to change careers. She conintues to dedicate part of her time educational consulting. Currently based in Alameda, California, Sylvia has also lived in Hamburg, Germany, and Quito, Ecuador.

Dana Roytenberg, Executive Assistant & HIP Associate
Dana joined HIP in April as an executive assistant to founder and CEO Paul Herman. She is also spearheading HIP’s Investor Roundtables, assisting marketing efforts and helping to streamline systems. Dana graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and has since worked in New York City as a brand management coordinator on brands including Ford Motor and Andy Warhol. During school, she interned at various non-profits, conducted research at Georgetown’s Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs, and had a stint at the State Department, at the American Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine.

Wil Keenan, HIP Associate
Wil Keenan recently graduated with a BA from Vanderbilt University with a major in Human and Organizational Development and a minor in International Leadership and Development. At Vanderbilt, Wil co-founded a company that sells clothing and accessory products made by Ugandan artisans with a purpose of facilitating micro-savings and investment for its artisan team. The company is now operating locally and tapping into Ugandan markets. Wil’s experience also includes volunteering in organizations around the world, interning at Ashoka: Innovators for the Public, and consulting for a health care system based in Nashville, TN. Currently, he is spearheading streamlining systems, driving HIP’s online networks and writing regular HIP analysis.
