In addition to emerging designers and small-scale producers, major players are jumping on the green apparel bandwagon. From mass market retailers like Wal-Mart, the world’s largest purchaser of organic cotton fiber, and JCPenney, to specialty leaders from GAP/Banana Republic to Patagonia, the race for market share is accelerating.
